Wagon Lodge - Kent
A four bedroom single storey house located on the outskirts of Kent village of Goudhurst. This stunning Grade II Listed barn was converted in the early 90's from a stable block and cart lodge and is believed to date from the 17th century or earlier with later additions. Full of character, the property features exposed beams, a vaulted ceiling and an open fireplace. There is a seasonal pond on the front boundary which was believed to be used as “cart pond” where horses and carts were backed into the water to prevent the wheels and their joints from drying out.
In addition, the property also is the base for a smallholding which consist of a 2/3 acre paddock adjoining the property and 3.5 acre field, bordering a small stream, situated across the road in an AONB. The land is used to graze cattle and sheep.
