Georgina Hamed

Makeup Artist

London born and raised make-up artist Georgie Hamed started her career after completing a fashion & specialist make-up course at Greasepaint school in 1995, this was followed by working for the iconic Japanese make-up brand Shu Uemura alongside assisting renowned make-up artist Linda Cantello on prestigious fashion campaigns and runway shows in Paris, Milan & NYC.

Georgie soon progressed to working independently where her focus became fashion, music & celebrity; working on editorial, press and advertising shoots, building an impressive roster of celebrity clients; Georgie worked with names such as Cate Blanchett, Naomi Campbell & the late Amy Winehouse. Georgie naturally gravitated towards the music industry, the creative energy of musicians became an inspiration for her work as an artist. Alongside numerous music videos, press shoots and TV appearances Georgie has worked as a personal make-up artist for a number of artists/musicians and has travelled on 3 world tours.

In 2007 Georgie put her entrepreneurial skills to use and embarked on creating a beauty concept store, stemming from an obsession with skincare and the desire to educate ladies on the art of make-up application, Georgie and her team of experts provided private tuition to clients. Inspired by a decadent Victorian apothecary, set in London’s affluent village of Primrose Hill, Lost in Beauty stocked an extensive selection of niche and exclusive beauty brands, mixed with art & vintage. The boutique incorporated a ‘backstage dressing room’, the glamorous studio space provided specialist beauty services including nails, brows, hair & facials carried out by London’s leading beauty experts. Awarded the ‘UK’s Best Independent Beauty Boutique’ by The Telegraph Magazine, Lost in Beauty gained wide recognition and a celebrity following, regulars included Helena Bonham Carter, Florence Welch & Sadie Frost. The business terminated in 2013 when a multi-chain beauty company took control of her lease, allowing Georgie to fully return to her craft of make up artistry and an exciting move to LA …

Georgie has spent the last 4 years working between Los Angeles and London; her work has been very diverse, mixing commercials, film and print shoots alongside working as an international artist for Burberry Beauty on VIP’s and red carpet events, her focus remained in music working with artists such as Lana Del Rey, Sam Smith, Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie and Lily Allen.

Georgie doesn’t conform to beauty rules, instead she prefers to work organically using each individual face and personality as a canvas to create radiant, flawless beauty with a creative flair, her approach to make-up is both fresh and spontaneous producing a mix of classic and fun beauty looks.
